Anti-Fouling
Introduction
Denialink is introducing a revolutionary system that keeps fouling from seawater
object, like e.g. ship hull or pontoon or buoy.
With just a simple frame with two electrodes , called the anode-cathode anti
fouling system, near your object it will be protected from fouling.
What is fouling?
The nautical term “fouling” refers to the growth of organic matter to the wet
part of boats and ships.
This can be algae, mussels, barnacles and other types of shellfish.
These cause a loss of speed by as much as 20%.
Fouling can activate corrosion on steel hulls; increase the osmoses reaction on
polyester as well as the rotting of wooden hulls.
By simply hanging the frame of the anti-fouling system along side or underneath
the ship, fouling is being prevented and periodic hull cleaning is not necessary
anymore… including the costs of paint(ing) and docking.

The Anti-Fouling system
The cells in which the electrolyses are being created consists of 2
electrodes; 1 anode and 1 cathode.
Through a Transformer Rectifier Unit, an electrical current is being
applied on the anode, which then runs to the cathode by way of an
ion-conducting electrolyte. (Water)
Because of the movement of the ions in the electrolyte, a cloud of
copper-ions is being created avoiding the growth of algae, mussels and
other unwanted matter.
The ion cloud (protection zone) is about 20 to 30 meter in diameter,
depending on frame suspense underneath the ship’s keel, and the
conductivity of the electrolyte.

After the copper-ions have done their work they are being oxidized, causing no
environmental pollution.
The frame itself requires little or no maintenance. Only the exchange of the
anode from time to time. (approx. 2 seasons)
Current consumption is minimal: The voltage will increase proportionally with
the wear of the anode.
The unit runs on 12V/24V/ direct (DC) or alternative current (AC) (optional).
Examples of successful use
Every 6 months buoys have to be lifted and cleaned from mussels.
With the anti-fouling rack, after a period of 6 months, just some fresh water
was needed to clean the greenish layer.
No mussels growth!!!!

The Dutch rescue agency uses the system on one of
their rescue ships.
Formerly the ship had to be taken out of the water every six months to
clean the jet inlets.
This maintenance cycle is now prolonged to once a year.

Onboard chlorination system
Ships move over 80% of the world's commodities.
In addition they transfer approximately 3 to 5 billion tonnes ballast
water worldwide each year.
The introduction of invasive marine species into new environments by
ship's ballast water, attached to ship's hull and via other vectors has
been identified as one of the four greatest threats to the world's
oceans.
A new, compact and powerful seawater fed chlorination system is in
operation onboard ships for treating ballast water and grey water.
This System can disinfect the ballast water for ships with ballast flow
rates from 50m3/hr up to 5000 m3/hr and even more.
The only pre-treatment the Ballast Water needs is filtering till 50
micron.
Our electrolysis system takes care of the extermination of bacteria and
organisms and reduction of BOD.
These systems are already installed on board Disney ships in America.
